The prestigious iF Design Award, an accolade above all others when it comes to the recognition of innovative product design, was established in Germany in 1953. The iF label is more than a trophy, - it’s a marketing tool, recognised the world over as the seal of design excellence.
BenQ are proud to announce that they were successful in gaining nine major awards at the recently judged 2012 iF Design Awards. The company’s Australian general manager, Chee. F. Chung commented 2012 marked BenQ’s best year ever for iF recognition.
“The recipient of nine iF awards not only attests to BenQ’s leading design capability, but ranks the company in third place within Asia, and seventh worldwide for iF award recognition,” she said. “In our home country of Taiwan, we are number one – no other Taiwanese company has more iF design awards than BenQ.
“The iF design award is known as the ‘Oscar’ of industrial design, possessing guidepost significance for the global industrial design industry. Entries for this year’s contest were double that of the previous year, making competition even fiercer and so BenQ is very proud to have secured a record nine iF design awards for 2012.”
The BenQ products receiving iF recognition include projectors, photo scanners, e-readers and their highly acclaimed gaming monitor, the XL2420T, scheduled for release in Australia this month.
“BenQ focuses on the originality and functionality of product design, offering consumers the optimal usage experience, allowing them to enjoy happiness brought by technology,” continued Chung.
The iF Design Awards are publicised at the end of every year. For the 2012 contest there were 4,322 entries, presented by 1,605 contestants from 48 countries. A total of 1,218 products were awarded a prestigious iF design award.
A ceremony will be held in Munich, Germany, on 10 February, 2012 at BMW World.
