Taipei, Taiwan, December 8, 2009 –BenQ Group announced today that 18 of the distinguished design products by its two designer teams, BenQ Lifestyle Design Center and Qisda Creative Design Center, were recognized with the prestigious iF Design Award 2010, making the BenQ Group a big winner among the Taiwanese enterprises, once again testifying to the group’s competent design strength. This is the latest brilliant performance staged by the group in the competition, which is deemed as one of the most significant design competitions worldwide, boosting the accumulated number of awards gained by the group in the competition to the highest in Taiwan, too. The performance also underscores the group’s fast-emerging design strength, which has enabled the group to become a design leader in the Chinese communities worldwide and gain a cutting edge in the global market.
The winning designs have won the favor of the jury, comprised of top international designers, thanks to their combination of the elements of environmental friendliness and technological aesthetics.
Manfred Wang, Chief Design Officer of both centers, pointed out that iF Design Award is a guidepost award in the international industrial-design field and its judges decisively examine every entry from the angles of aesthetic idea, practicability, innovation, feasibility, and manifestation of brand value in determining the winning products. The repeated acknowledgement of BenQ Group by the award underlines the group’s emphasis on and dedication to product design. In fact, the group’s simultaneous care of innovation and marketability in product design, in line with the “design driven” development strategy and the design philosophy of “Meeting of Opposites,” has become a core competence of the group.
