Sonic X Shadow Generations are two platform games bundled into one: the remastered Sonic Generations and the new Shadow Generations. The plots run parallel to each other, and they maintain similar game mechanics, but you don’t need to play Sonic Generations to understand Shadow Generations. The games are only available in the bundle for all gaming platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. As the events of Sonic Generations occur, Shadow goes on his own quest to defeat the alien warlord Black Doom through a series of levels and bosses. To do this, Shadow must confront his past and harness his new Doom Powers to fight off the hoards of enemies in each level. As a platform game that shifts between side-scrolling and 3D gameplay, it’s key to have the right platform to play on to keep up with the shifts in format and high-paced action of each level. With tailored, auto-sensing Game Modes and customizable settings, the X300G is the ideal accessory for a game of this complexity.

Each level introduces details about Shadow’s past and the danger Black Doom presents to the world. It also tests your reflexes with quick changes in direction, coin availability, and track shifting through the 3D and side-scrolling stages. Sonic’s world is full of bright greens with hints of blues to enhance the colors of his fur while Shadow’s world is heavily red-coded or has darker levels to match his energy. The endings of both games are drastically different in tones as well, so be sure to play through both and get the best experience on a gaming projector. 

The release of Shadow Generations was part of the “Fearless: Year of Shadow” campaign centered around all Shadow content coming out this year. Sonic fans get to enjoy the original Sonic Generations game with its enhanced quality while diving into the new Shadow game to explore the contrasting characters and worlds.
