When corporations decide to integrate Windows OS Smart Projectors into their organizations, they’re not only able to take advantage of the combined benefits of the Windows operating system, but they’re also able to fully apply all their organization’s current security policies without any issues. With projectors powered by Windows, users will be able to utilize features that allow their IT personnel to manage and control them along with all the company’s devices.
Here are some frequently asked questions about how to fully integrate your EH620 into your company’s network while staying secure.
Q1
How do you connect EH620 to your AD domain for centralized control?

EH620 features Windows 11 IoT OS built-in, meaning it can be added to your company’s AD domain (Active Directory domain) so that it can be centrally controlled along with all the other Windows devices in the network.

See how

  • Enter the Settings menu, choose Accounts, and then select Access work or school.
  • Once selected, click Connect in the Add a work or school account box.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to add EH620 to your organization’s AD domain and complete the process.
Q2
How do you automatically sign out to avoid any risk of exposing personal account information?

When companies that use Office 365 take advantage of EH620’s ability to login to their Office 365 accounts directly from the projector, they might have some misgivings about the risk of exposing personal account information if their users forget to log out. In such cases, the organization’s IT staff can reinforce their company data security policy by first adding the EH620s to their AD domain (following the steps above) and then configuring the sign-in options so that the system can detect when a user has left and automatically sign the user out.

See how

  • In the Settings > Accounts menu, find and select Sign-in options.
  • In the Additional settings sub-menu select When PC wakes up from sleep from the If you’ve been away, when should Windows require you to sign in again? drop down menu.

Once you have made the selection, anytime a new user wants to use the projector the user will need to log in again using their administrative account since EH620 will have already been added to the AD domain.

Q3
Since multiple users are able log in, how do you keep the same set workspace within the projector’s operating system?

Given that each user in a meeting can log in using their individual account and download and install different application and files, IT staff can assign a system administrator to periodically maintain the projector’s set workspace (by default only the administrator can access the files downloaded by all users in Windows, users with a visitor account can only access the files and applications they have added).

See how

  • In the Accounts sub-menu of the Settings menu, find and select Other users, and then click Add account in the Add a work or school account box.

Follow the on-screen instructions to add an administrator.

Q4
How do you install a firewall to protect the projector?

Similar to how corporations install mandatory firewalls in each of their computers, we also recommend installing a firewall on EH620 to help protect the projector from hackers or any external threats to the system. If your organization uses Windows’ default firewall settings, you can also do the same for EH620. If necessary, you can also configure your firewall to prohibit any external connections to EH620 or to only allow trusted IP addresses to connect to the projector.

See how

  • In the Privacy & security sub-menu of the Settings menu, select Windows Security, and then select Firewall & network protection.

Check to see if the firewall is enabled.

Q5
How do you ensure that the projector regularly updates its operating system so that it features the best protection capabilities?

Companies tend to always keep the Windows installed on each of their computers in the most up-to-date version to ensure that each PC can perform at its most optimal state, you can also do the same with your EH620 projector. You can also regularly check to see if EH620 needs an update via its Windows’ update notice. To view an instructional video related to this, check the link below:
