Google Workspace is used extensively in education for its wide range of cloud-based productivity and learning tools. Teachers and students alike work with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to prepare lesson materials and do homework. If you are an educator who relies on Google Workspace to teach classes, there are many ways for you to open those files on a BenQ Board.

The simplest way to pull up Google Workspace files on your BenQ Board is to connect your laptop to the display with an HDMI or USB-C cable. Once connected, you can either duplicate or extend your screen to the display and open the files you want to work with right on your laptop.

BenQ Boards allow for two-way touch between your laptop and the board. Activate this feature to control your laptop directly from the interactive display.

Connecting wirelessly to a BenQ Board eliminates the hassle and restrictions of cables. If you’re on a laptop, you can use Miracast (on Microsoft Windows) or AirPlay (on MacOS). Connecting wirelessly is also the easiest way to share content from your mobile device, whether it runs on Android or iOS. Once your device screen is cast to the board, you can open Google Workspace files and work with them as you normally would.

If you export Google Workspace documents as Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files and save them on a USB flash drive, you can easily open them on your BenQ Board. Just plug the flash drive into the display and access the documents using AMS Files, the built-in file explorer. BenQ Boards come equipped with WPS Office, which you can use to work with the files. When you’re done, just save your changes and upload the files again to your Google Drive.

Slot-in PCs turn your BenQ Board into a large-scale tablet. Open your Google Workspace files directly on the browser and work with them as you would on your laptop.

If your system administrator has set up a network folder on the display, you can access Google Workspace files directly from there. To do this, just download your Google Workspace files in Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint formats and save them on your local network drive. Microsoft Office files can be opened on BenQ Boards using WPS.

AMS Files gives you access to your cloud storage, such as Google Drive. To load your Google Workspace files, simply tap Google Drive in AMS. If you have shared your Google Workspace files publicly, you can edit them directly from the board.

Google Workspace files stored on Google Drive can be accessed from a browser as you would on your laptop using Firefox. If you log into Google Drive in front of your class, students may be able to see your credentials. To prevent this, we recommend using AMS.
