Knowledge CenterTo make the right choice, you need to account for the ENVIROMENT & OVERALL SETUP because not all rooms or spaces are the same.
There are two things to consider when figuring out how bright the projector should be:
(1)AMBIENT LIGHT
(2)SCREEN SIZE
The CLOSER the projector is to the screen, the BRIGHTER & SMALLER the image will be.
A REMINDER:
When looking for a projector, the first thing to do is to make sure that the brightness value is listed in ANSI LUMENS.
A bright room or the sunlit outdoors will call for a HIGH-BRIGHTNESS projector, while a darker room or a nighttime camp site can do with a DIMMER projector.
But an easily overlooked aspect is SCREEN SIZE, since a large screen size requires a brighter projector and vice versa for a small screen.
Here are a couple of tables that’ll help you figure out the most suitable brightness values based on the above-mentioned factors.
At the end of the day, it all depends on what suits you:
1. Figure out in what type of SETTING you plan on using the projector.
2. Decide on HOW BIG you want the image to be.
3. Then by using the RECOMMANDATIONS above, you'll be able to find the right projector to enjoy movies as you intended.
