Toronto, Ontario, June 13, 2005 – After just over 18 months in business, BenQ Canada continues its upward trend, announcing ever-increasing revenue and market share figures. This quarter, the company’s revenue increased 196 percent over the same period last year. In addition, BenQ Canada earned the number one market share in LCD monitors , while attaining overall revenue of CAD$50 million.

BenQ’s success was fueled by incredible growth in display, projectors and storage products. Compared to the first quarter of 2004, BenQ’s display revenues increased by 125 percent as the number of units sold increased 166 percent. For projectors, revenue grew 255 percent as the number of units sold increased 374 percent. For BenQ’s storage products, the number of units sold increased 348 percent, while revenues increased an astonishing 791 percent.
In achieving its number one market share in LCD monitors, BenQ sold over 78,000 units in the first three months of the year. Michelle Warren, IT Industry Analyst at Evans Research, noted that “With a quarterly finish of 18% market share and annual unit growth of 232%, BenQ contributed significantly to the robust 60% annual growth of the Canadian LCD market in the first quarter of 2005.” A collective 426,400 displays were shipped during this period.
